Glenn Beck announced today a new movement called “We Are All Catholics Now.” The goal of the movement is to get everyone opposed to the mandate to speak out by contacting your state Senator and letting them know that you will not support the mandate. Also, let them know that you are in favor of the Highway Transportation bill, including the Blunt Conscience Protection Amendment, protecting religious conscience rights.

Beck wants people to tell their Senators that “We are all Catholics Now,” in support of the movement.

Contact Your Senators via phone or email and tell them:

That you want to tell the Senator to vote for the Blunt conscience protection amendment.

Ask them if they know how the Senator will vote on that amendment

Tell them you want to be contacted back about how he voted (be sure to ask for accountability — they hate it, but it makes them call you back).

When you call, be sure to tell them “We are all Catholics now”. This key phrase will let them know you are part of a larger, organized movement working in support of religious freedom.

CLASS ACT REPEALED NOW! ACTION ALERT!

Last night the 112th Congress passed HR 1173 which repealed the CLASS Act portion of the ObamaCare law! Let’s make sure the Senate does its job by repealing this portion as well!
The bipartisan majority on the Democrat led Senate Appropriations Committee voted to defund part of the ObamaCare law, the CLASS Act. The head of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, and other Administrative wonks finally realized that the unsustainable program would be an albatross around their necks if they didn’t shelve it now.

However, it is not gone, just merely waiting in the background for some new infusion of taxpayer cash, to once again forge creative financing for the current Administration. This is where the “savings” in the ObamaCare bill came from and now it is finally out and for the whole nation to see the enormous failure of this program.

Polls are continuing to show that the law is going out of favor with most people as the following
On the Senate floor Senators Barrasso (WY), Thune (SD) and Sessions (AL) were discussing the need to repeal this program altogether and they are right. Now is the time to get rid of another failed government program that would have only been yet another taxpayer subsidized program for years to come. Richard Foster the long time actuary for the government said this was a “recipe for disaster” and as such the Administration finally cried “uncle” and defunded it, so why would we keep it around in any form?

Let’s see government shrink by at least one failed program and find out who the real heroes are in Congress by asking all of our Senators to Repeal the CLASS ACT now!
Below are the sponsors of the Bill and author John Thune. Call your Senator and ask them to support S720 to Repeal the CLASS Act.

When the Senate got to the floor yesterday they did not bring up agenda item #69, the SB 810, also known as the California Single Payer Health Care Bill! This is a victory for the California taxpayer, the California Tea Party groups along with many others that helped in this effort. For every person who called, faxed and emailed, thank you for helping. Your efforts DO work.

AB 327

Another bill was passed in Assembly yesterday and headed now to the Senate. This bill severely waters down the “3 Strikes” law and allows for early release of criminals in order to save funds. How about we eliminate the Cadillac Health Care for prisoners and keep our communities safe, which is governments formost responsibility to its citizens

Call your Senator now and tell them to vote NO on AB 327. If you do not know who your Senator is or how to contact him/her, go to the California web-site.

There really are some heroes!

Senator Doug LaMalfa (R-Richvale) today introduced SB 985 that asks the voters if they want to proceed with California’s proposed $98.5 billion high speed rail project. The measure has already earned 31 co-sponsors.

“Voters have been misled about the true costs of High Speed Rail from the start, said Senator LaMalfa. The costs have tripled since 2008 and every objective observer has said this project it too expensive and is unlikely to be completed. ”

In the past year the California Supreme Court ruled that Proposition 1A’s ballot language was misleading, the High Speed Rail Authority admitted to using government funds to lobby Congress and the State Legislature, Congress has withdrawn future funds from the project, the Legislative Analyst Office has called into question the legality of the financing for the proposed first leg of construction, and the High Speed Rail Peer Review recommended not building the project.
“Moving forward with just the first $2.7 billion in bonds to fund the ‘train to nowhere’ section of rail will cost California taxpayers $180 million a year just to service that debt. That is less than 3% of the total cost to build the project,” continued LaMalfa. “Are the supporters of this project willing to layoff teachers, cops and firefighters to pay for an unusable section of track?”
“It is time the voters got a do over. If the legislature acts quickly this measure can be on the November ballot and voters can have their say- real costs in hand.”
Let’s all put our support behind Senator LaMalfa!

Please speak out against the high speed rail boondoggle and vote ”Yes – the project is doomed” in this poll:

When California voters narrowly
approved the high speed rail project, we were told the train would cost $45 billion. Now, the rail authority is saying it could cost $120 billion for just the portion from LA and San Francisco.

At the rail authority’s current estimate of up to $226 million per mile of track, the whole system would cost a whopping $180 billion. Some are saying the cost could easily exceed $200 billion when it’s all over.

Californians approved spending $45 billion, not $180 billion for high speed rail! And that was in 2008, when we were in a better position economically than we are now.

Audits of our existing infrastructure shows our highway system is crumbling and our roads are ranked among the nation’s worst. Our budget shortfall is almost $20 billion. And even if they build the train and actually get the project done – it’s more likely if they start it will be a train to nowhere that never gets completed – it won’t even be done until 2030!

Imagine, a family whose house is facing foreclosure. One spouse has lost their job. They have bills stacking up they can’t pay. And then the husband walks in the door and says he’s just bought a brand new $50,000 Mercedes on credit. A good idea? No way! High speed rail is just as bad of an idea.
